About Me

I work as a palliative care nurse.  I became interested in personal development during a period of my life when I experienced chronic fatigue syndrome.  As well as holding both General Nursing and Specialist Palliative Care Nursing qualifications, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and have recently completed Professional Mindfulness Teacher Training (Level One) with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (CMRP) in Bangor, Wales.

I completed my first 8 week MBSR in 2014 and since then have developed a daily mindfulness meditation practice.  I have now begun teaching the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, with supervision and continue to deepen my practice through regular attendance at silent retreats following the Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness Based courses established by the UK Network of Mindfulness Teachers.  I hope to continue on the Professional Teacher Training Pathway with the CMRP.  This involves continuing to teach MBSR courses with supervision as well as engaging in a range of personal and professional development courses.
